Autumn Hudock

Autumn Hudock received her B.A. in Anthropology at UNC Charlotte. She then completed her M.A. with a focus on human evolution and osteology. She has worked with Dr. Carol Marchetto, studying how stem cell models can help researchers understand and treat neurodegenerative disorders. Other areas of interest include using cerebral organoids to model hominin and primate brains for the purpose of comparison for anatomically modern human brains, as well as the ethical considerations of using iPSC and hESCs in anthropological and neurological research. Her current dissertation research is focused on modeling the possible negative health effects that environmental pollutants pose to the developing human brain using neural organoids derived from iPSCs, with the main interest being impacts of climate change on human health.
